Antibiotic resistance has emerged as a major threat to global health. As bacteria develop resistance to the drugs used to treat them, they become increasingly harder (and sometimes impossible) to treat.
The misuse of antibiotics by humans and in animals has accelerated the process - but the good news is that we can all take steps to prevent and minimize the spread of antibiotic resistance!
Here’s how you can help:
1. only use antibiotics that have been prescribed to you by a certified health professional
2. always follow the guidelines for use, and really try not to skip doses
3. never share or keep leftover antibiotics
4. never take an antibiotic for viral infections (ie. cold, flu)
5. wash your hands regularly, avoid close contact with sick individuals if possible, practice safe sex, and keep your vaccinations up to date!
6. choose foods that have been produced without the use of antibiotics to promote growth or prevent disease in healthy animals
7. purchase this sticker from Cell Kulture Co. to directly benefit the kids at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles being treated for infectious diseases, including those caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria ♥️
For each sticker purchased, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Division of Infectious Diseases! Several donation options are available 🥰
